Iraqi Special Forces at the last position before Bartila, some 27 km East of Mosul, Iraq, 21 October 2016. Iraqi army forces announced on 21 October morning that they have taken full control of Bartila, and in an interview with epa, Major General Maan al-Saadi, the Commander of Partial Operation in Bartila said that there were some 100 IS fighters inside the town, 80 of them were killed. Those left have retreated to a village adjacent to Bartila on the way to Mosul and that the Special Forces were now clearing the place of the explosive devices planted by IS. EPA/AMEL PAIN
