The Gift of Peace
Luke 1 vs 79; John 16 vs 33; John 20 vs 19; Phil. 4 vs 7; Col. 3 vs 15.
The God kind of Peace, not the world kind of peace. The peace that surpasses all understanding. The world cannot understand this kind of peace. Thats why it seeks for peace in many different places and people and it constantly negotiate peace treaties, searching for common ground. The world will say that they have found, yet if it is not God kind of peace, sudden destruction,the Scriptures says, will come upon them.
The peace that's a gift from God. Jesus says, " My peace I give unto you."It is a gift like any other gifts God gives, it's undeserved, unmerited, and it is by grace. It's a peace that we receive by faith. Peace comes as we reading the Scriptures and accept the gift of peace that God has given. This is the kind of peace the world is searching for. We as the "Christians" should be showing how to obtain this peace. But how can we show them when there is no sign of peace within our borders.
Jesus promises to give His followers peace. People of the world can only have peace as long as things are going their way. They often seek out false peace in various forms of escape, like alcohol, and drugs. God gives His people supernatural peace,that will be there even in the midst of great difficulty.
People of God, accept the gift of God's peace, don't look for ways to resolve. He has done it all for us. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
