My Burden Is Light
By ~Romeo Mannel~

We are encouraged to cast all our cares upon the Lord, for He will sustain us. Psalm 55 vs 22; God's sustainability is available to all and is experience as we cast all our cares upon Him.
When we are burdened and heavy laden with our cares, we are invited to come to the Lord, and He will give us rest. Matthew 11 vs 28

Matthew 11 vs 28-30; It is rather ironic for Jesus to also invite us to take up His yoke.
Image result for Pictures of yoke laden ox ploughingThis invitation comes to those who labour and the heavy laden, to accept His yoke. A yoke is a wooden structure that lays on the neck of an animal, and a well made yoke lays easily on the animals neck. We are drawn to a figure on a farm where oxen are yoked to plough. As we read this scripture we are taken back to the early years in Nazareth.

A yoke is not a burden, but the harness by which a burden may be borne. In vs, 30, Jesus says," For my yoke is easy and My burden is light," It seems like Jesus is more concerned about we taking up His yoke, than giving us
rest. But He says, "learn from Me," an you will find rest for your souls.

In these times so many people lives under immense and incredible pressure. Tension and stress takes their toll on the old as well as the young. Children and young people are under immense pressure to excel in their studies and their sporting activities. Business people struggle to keep head above water in an extremely competitive environment. The elderly experience an increasingly uncertain future and constantly worry about their security. People of all ages are exposed to all kinds of temptations that promise only disaster for them and their loved ones.
Professional counselling, medical treatment and medication have become common remedies for people suffering from tension. in most cases these are only temporary measures that are merely a crutch to help people stumble through life. And still the tension keeps increasing.
There are only one infallible way of coping with tension and stress, and this is Christ's way. He who has lived and worked under immense pressure, offers us the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. It is a peace that banishes all anxieties and fears and gives you the ability to cope with life in the strength of the Master.
Accept His gift of peace and rest.

When we are invited to a wedding, we, first of all accept the invitation, then we prepare ourselves. Thinking of what to wear, what gift to get for the couple. Having kids, we arrange for them to either go to your parents place and then pick them up on the way home from the reception, or for your parents to visit you for that period. We make sure that everything runs smoothly.
The initial reaction of all the happenings that has taken place in conjunction with wedding, was the acceptance of the invitation.

Jesus' invitation comes to all of us, no matter who or what we are.
His calling us to repentance of what ever is keeping us away from Him. Come to Me, Jesus invites us, and we will find rest.
