Lay Up Treasures In Heaven;
Part 1: How To
by ~Romeo Mannel~
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Matthew 6 vs 19 - 21
Vs 19) Comes with a warning;
Do not! Do this warning come to us as a first/ friendly warning or a final warning? We ourselves knows best where our treasures are. We are being forewarned, because there are three things mentioned here, which can cause devastation in our lives. Moth, Rust and Thieves.
Some moths, particularly their caterpillars, can be major agricultural pests in many parts of the world. Examples include corn borers and bollworms.[5] The caterpillar of the gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar) causes severe damage to forests in the northeastern United States, where it is an invasive species. In temperate climates, the codling moth causes extensive damage, especially to fruit farms. In tropical and subtropical climates, the diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) is perhaps the most serious pest of brassicaceous crops.
Several moths in the family Tineidae are commonly regarded as pests because their larvae eat fabric such as clothes and blankets made from natural proteinaceous fibers such as wool or silk.[6] They are less likely to eat mixed materials containing some artificial fibers. There are some reports that they may be repelled by the scent of wood from juniper and cedar, by lavender, or by other natural oils; however, many consider this unlikely to prevent infestation. Naphthalene (the chemical used in mothballs) is considered more effective, but there are concerns over its effects on human health.
Moth larvae may be killed by freezing the items which they infest for several days at a temperature below −8 °C (18 °F).[7]
Despite being notorious for eating clothing, most moth adults do not eat at all. Many, like the Luna, Polyphemus, Atlas, Promethea, cecropia, and other large moths do not have mouth parts. Among those adult moths that do eat, they will drink nectar
Rust is another name for iron oxide, which occurs when iron or an alloy that contains iron, like steel, is exposed to oxygen and moisture for a long period of time. Over time, the oxygen combines with the metal at an atomic level, forming a new compound called an oxide and weakening the bonds of the metal itself. Although some people refer to rust generally as "oxidation", that term is much more general; although rust forms when iron undergoes oxidation, not all oxidation forms rust. Only iron or alloys that contain iron can rust, but other metals can corrode in similar ways.
The main catalyst for the rusting process is water. Iron or steel structures might appear to be solid, but water molecules can penetrate the microscopic pits and cracks in any exposed metal. The hydrogen atoms present in water molecules can combine with other elements to form acids, which will eventually cause more metal to be exposed. If chloride ions are present, as is the case with saltwater, the corrosion is likely to occur more quickly. Meanwhile, the oxygen atoms combine with metallic atoms to form the destructive oxide compound. As the atoms combine, they weaken the metal, making the structure brittle and crumbly.
Moth and rust are the two main catalyst to bring destruction, where your treasures on the earth is concerned.
Thieves;
Burglar, pickpocket, highwayman. Thief, robber refer to one who steals. A thief takes the goods or property of another by steal without the latter's knowledge: like a thief in the night. A robber tres-passes upon the house,property, or person of another, and makes away with things of value, even at the cost of violence: A robber held up two women on the street.
Refering even to the return of Jesus Christ, "like a thief in the night"
The earth then is not a safe place to have your treasures layed up. Also, though we may argue that these are things we need, we need not to worry about anything, because the Lord knows we have need of these. Matthew 6 vs 33; But seek first the Kingdom of God.
If then you were raised with Christ, denotes a prerequesite of being able to seek those things which are of above. In other words, prior to being raised with Christ, you are not able to set your mind on the Kingdom of God, where Christ Jesus is, sitting at the right hand of God. Being raised with Christ means, there have been a death, or needed to have been a death of ourselves. Once you accept Christ Jesus into your life through faith, a basic reality goes to work:your old nature dies and you die spiritually to sin.Since you are spiritually dead to sin, it should no longer have dominion over you. However, even though it is a spiritual reality that you are dead to sin, moment by moment you must activate that reality through faith. In other words, moment by moment you must choose with your will to reckon yourself dead to sin. We then choose by faith that we are dead to those things which are displeasing to God. Romans 6 vs1-11
Ephesians 2 vs 6; And raised us up together, and made us sit together in Heavenly places in Chist Jesus.Colossians 2 vs 12;
