God's Life Giving Word

Human Heart: Anatomy, Function & Facts

The
 human heart is an organ that pumps blood throughout the body via the circulatory system, supplying oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removing carbon dioxide and other wastes.
"The tissues of the body need a constant supply of nutrition in order to be active," said Dr. Lawrence Phillips, a cardiologist at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York. "If [the heart] is not able to supply blood to the organs and tissues, they'll die."

We have a similar basic functionality when we talking about the heart of the spirit. Reading through the Bible, we'll find scripture relating to the heart almost in every chapter of the Bible. Mentioning that now, gives me the idea that, even the Bible is functioning with a heart.

Having said that let me address what the Bible relates to us as to what is of most  important to the heart of the spirit. Deuteronomy 6 vs 6: And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

When we take the first three words, it relates to us an object. It points to a specific thing. "These words'', not just any words, but words that will flow in the heart, to bring life to every part of a persons spiritual life. Only these words and will be able to let your spiritual heart function properly. As the human heart cannot function without blood, even so the spiritual heart cannot function without these words.

At this point in time let me point out a functionality of the spiritual heart that is contrary to it's basic function, of giving the God kind of life. And also functions on different words. In fact it is the Bible that warns us of this. Jeremiah 17 vs 9; The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
Proverbs 4 vs 23; Keep you heart with all diligence, for out of it springs the issues of life.
We are being warned that we should (keep) our hearts, Safe? With all diligence.
Out of it can proceed;
A) Words of life.
When God's words have been hidden in the heart, it gives life to the heart, and life springs forth out of the heart through the mouth, that is if we keep our hearts. Psalm 119 vs 11; The Psalmist say's with assurance, Your word have I  hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Having God's word in your heart;
1) Gives life to your heart, ( Like blood to the human heart)
2) It springs forth like a life giving fountain, and
3) Keeps us from sinning against God.( To hide God's words in our hearts as a   preventive measure against sin).
Out of it proceed;
B) Words of death.
Proverbs 18 vs 21; Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it's fruit. God is the life giver,  so with God's word resident in your heart, whenever doubt rises up in the heart like a blood clot, the surging power of God's word will wash and cleanse doubt away. The enemy will time and again try to cause us to doubt Gods word by using countless negative situations and circumstances. Jesus asked His Disciples, after His resurrection, having appeared unto them, Luke 24 vs 38;" Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Doubts is a threat to the life giving word of God in our lives. Remember one thing, doubt cannot bring death to God's word, but it can bring death to God's word in our lives. It will stop the flow, as in the case with the human blood, when blood is not circulated to the tissues and the organs, it will die. Doubt is fed with words of unbelief and can choke the very life giving word that is resident in us.

Psalm 119 vs 2;
Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!
