God Weighs Our Hearts
by ~Romeo Mannel~
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
Proverbs 21:2-3 [NKJV]
Proverbs 16 vs 2
States exactly the same thing; All the ways of man are pure in his own eyes. But the Lord weighs the spirit.
We see here how heart and spirit are mentioned as being the same. It does not refer to a person's human heart. When we speak of someone by using the term, that he/she has a good heart, we refer to that person spirit. We even say, that the person has a good spirit. Proverbs 24 vs 12; .... Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And He not will render to each man according to his deeds? Again it's no reference to the human heart. 1 Samuel 16 vs 7; ....;For man looks at the outwards appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
John 4 vs 24; God looks at the heart because He is Spirit and wants those who worship Him, to do so in spirit and in truth, and of a pure heart, because He is a Holy God.
Let's have a closer look at word," truth." - According to the Spirit filled life Bible for students -
TRUTH;
Aletheia-(al-ay-thi-yah): God requires that people worship Him in spirit and in truth. Worship must be real, sincere and transparent. God does not want people to play religious games and try to put on a "spiritual act "in front of Him.
The word aletheia is derived from negative, a, and lanthano, "to be hidden," "to escape notice."(Compare "latent," "lethargy," "lethal.") Aletheia is the opposite of fictitious, feigned, or false. It denotes veracity, reality, sincerity, accuracy integrity, truthfulness, dependability, and propriety. The expression, "Christianity is truth and not a religion," means that Christianity is not man made, but a real relationship with areal God. In a world that believes that truth is relative and changes base on one's subjective experience, the Bible is unique because it declares that there is ultimate truth. Truth does not exist apart of the person of Jesus Christ, who is truth.
The righteousness of God is revealed to us in His Word, which is Jesus Christ our Lord. Through whom justice has been awarded to us by His grace.
True worship of God is never legalism. True worship of God is living and pure worship produced by the Holy Spirit of God. When we allow Holy Spirit to fill us to overflowing, the natural result is pure and holy worship of God.True worship is praising and worshipping God in the fullness of His Spirit and enjoying His living presence. True worship releases the worshipper and sets him on a higher plain of possibility and purpose for life.
Luke 16 vs 15;
And He said to them; "You are of those who justify yourself before men, but God knows your hearts . For what is highly esteemed before men is an abomination in the sight of God.
The word "right," is as important as to what is truth. As per Wikipedia.
RIGHT;
(from Greek orthos ("right", "true", "straight") + doxa ("opinion" or "belief", related to dokein, "to think"),[1]) is adherence to accepted norms, more specifically to creeds, especially in religion.[2] In the narrow Christian sense, the term means "conforming to the Christian faith as rep-
resented in the creeds of the early Church".
As Jesus said to the Pharisees that their justification is not in what they do in front of men to be seen by them, that pleases God. To do the right is not to conform to creeds and rituals, which brings vain glory to themselves. It is an abomination to God, Jesus said.
Be therefore of the same mind, having our minds renewed, by the Word of the Lord.
For He is the Way the Truth and the Life.
