Our Gateway to God's Wisdom

by ~ Romeo Mannel ~

For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Proverbs 2 [NKJV]
http://bible.com/114/Pro.2:6.[NKJV]
We regard the Word of God, the Bible as His mouth, from which we receive knowledge and understanding. As we seek after His Word as silver and for it as a hidden treasure, we will understand the fear of the Lord,  and find the knowledge of God.

The Psalmist says, "Your Word have I hidden in my heart," Psalm 119 vs.11  Although this was aimed at young men ( vs.9 ), he encourages all of us to hide God's Word in our hearts. In this day that we live of sexual promiscuity, self -centered values, materialism, pornography, semipornographic movies. videos and literature,  and a culture that promotes philosophies that are anti - God, how can we and our young people live holy lives that are both morally and spiritually pure.

The answer to this question lies in heeding to the Word of God and seeking God with your whole heart.

To hide God's Word in your heart serves as a preventative measure against sin.
It also serves as wisdom producer. For the Lord gives wisdom, and it puts us in a position to ask of God for wisdom.
How can we ask God for wisdom if we do not have His Word in our hearts? It stands for reason,  and I'm just posing the question.

I Kings 3 vs 1-14
Solomon was given a choice, and that in his dream. When told by God, " Ask! What shall I give you?"He chose, an understanding heart to judge God's people and to discern between good and evil.(vs.12) Behold I have done according to your words, see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart,...
.
We are encouraged by James, James 1 vs 5,  If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God, Who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given him.

We need to take this one thing into consideration here. The wisdom that God gives, is for us to use when it's needed. It does not mean that wisdom belongs to us, it is God's property. God has a wealth of wisdom for us to use to His glory. It will be total foolishness, I use this word with utmost respect to all who read this, for we are not to call anybody a fool, if we go around parading as a wise person.

Let us for our own sake seek rather after God's Word which is our gateway to God's wisdom
