Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
Colossians 3 NKJV.
Since we are new creations in Jesus Christ.We are told to put (it) on :-
Kindness,[repeat,,,,,,,,,]....
Humility,[...
Meekness,[...
Longsuffering,[...
Bearing one another,[...
Forgiving one another,[...
If anyone has a complain against another;even as Christ forgave you,so you also must do.
To change your old character,you need to put on the new character.
Winter is approaching us,so we dress ourselves to be warm,to combat the cold weather conditions. Nobody in his sane mind wants to be naked. When we do not put on these characteristic traits of the new man,we are naked, eg.,we cannot portray the new man,and the old man with it's non-productive orientated characteristic traits will have dominance over the new man.Character traits is a portrayal of a personality.That's why we are told to do even as Christ forgave us.
This type of healthy personality,Enrich Fromm, a German -American psychoanalyts, occasionally refer to as"the person without a mask".This is the type of person who, without disavowing his or her biological and social nature,does not avoid freedom and responsibility to sell themselves. This person most likely comes out of a family that loves, which prefer reason to rules,and freedom to conformity.
