A nine-year-old from Texas just inked a million dollar deal with Whole Foods.

The thing I love most about the age of technology within which we live is that everyone has the power to make anything of themselves, and put it all out there in a way that they never could before. 9-year-old Mikaila Ulmer, from Sugar Land, TX did just that by creating a company called Bee Sweet Lemonade, and beating out big-wigs like Kraft, Coke, Pepsi, and Proctor & Gamble to be featured in Whole Foods Market.
The idea for her lemonade empire came when Mikaila was stung by bees twice in one week at 4-years-old. Her fear of bees led her to do some research on them, and eventually she decided to create a product that helped save their lives. She used an old lemonade recipe from her great-grandmother’s cookbook, added some honey to raise awareness about bees, and BOOM, she became a 9-year-old millionaire.
Last year alone, beekeepers reported a 42 percent loss in their colonies, which is the second highest annual loss on record. Obviously, we need to save the bees.
So if you find yourself wandering around a Whole Foods, as we all inevitably do, pick up some Bee Sweet Lemonade, and help support capitalism, and the bees, and 9-year-olds everywhere with big dreams.
